Beck was co-author and instructor of the 3-month, 90-hour webmaster training course. Responsibilities included classroom instruction and updating the course content.
As CIAT's Webmaster, Beck was responsible for the design, HTML authoring, maintenance and management of CIAT's web site.
Joyce Beck has worked with clients in each of CIAT's four major service sectors during her eleven years with CIAT. Clients include government agencies, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and small businesses.
For six years, Beck served as primary analyst for CIAT's projects with the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired. She assisted the Commission in identifying appropriate adaptive technology for computer use by the visually impaired, and trained the Commission's staff and clients in use of computer aids for word processing and other office functions.
Beck's responsibilities also included systems analysis and technical assistance to state and local governments. In this capacity Beck has developed master plans for computerization and office automation systems.
Beck played a lead role in the planning of six consecutive annual New Jersey Software Industry Fast Track (NJ SwIFT) Conferences.
Beck developed administrative computing courses and trained NJ university
employees in Financial Records and other systems. Beck prepared and conducted other seminars on computerization as well, including courses on Windows and Windows applications and courses for municipal clerk and municipal budget staffs, and contributed to CIAT publications. Beck has served on the university Committee on the Handicapped, the Committee on Computing Services, the Committee on Employee Training, and the League of Municipalities Task Force on Computerization.
